Alexander Rodion Skarvelis

Artistic Director

Alexander Rodion Skarvelis studied film and theatre in England and opera directing in Italy under Pier Luigi Pizzi, Gianfranco De Bosio, Katie Mitchell. He was awarded with an MA at Verona Accademia per l'Opera.

He has worked on numerous productions around Europe and in renowned opera houses and theatres, including Mariinsky Theatre, Teatro La Fenice, Dutch National Opera, Greek National Opera—as stage director, assistant director, video-scenographer, etc.

Errikos Vaios

Music Director

Vaios studied piano and theory at the National Conservatory in Greece, and composition in Australia with Professors Peter Sculthorpe, Larry Sitsky, Andrew Ford, and David Worrall (electroacoustic music), as well as conducting with Max McBride. He was awarded an M.Phil in Music Composition at the University of Sussex under the supervision of Prof. Martin Butler. 

Ηe is among the most internationally performed Greek composers of his generation, and his works have been presented frequently in many cities and festivals around the world, including: Athens, London, Budapest, Brasov, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Louisiana, Busan, Heyfield—by artists and ensembles such as Theodore Kerkezos, Duo Contemporain, Tiberiu Soare, Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra, Alex Poulton, Maria Stratigou, and Matheson Bayley. He was one of the official composers and artistic advisors for the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, and sole invitee/participant in the genre of serious music at the inaugural 5-day convention for the arts and language of SAE – World Council of Hellenes Abroad (Australian chapter). He now serves as Vice President of the Hellenic Composers Association.
